Re: Scirocco and GTV6

> Isn't the Scirocco and GTV6 also similarly designed?

My first car was a series I Scirocco (with round headlamps). I've also owned
a GTV6. Many compare the Scirocco to the Alfetta as examples of "pure"
Giugiaro designs. The Scirocco's back seat will fold down, however, unlike
the GTV6. The Scirocco is FWD with a transverse engine. It's a highly
tossable car for driving in the Berkeley Hills, but it ultimately loses out
to the GTV6 in the all-important sex appeal category. Giugiaro was to have
styled the 2nd generation Scirocco, but his design ended up becoming the
Isuzu Impulse. The closest competition to the stock GTV6 in terms of
performance (IMO) is still the normally-aspirated Porsche 944.
