SAAB tranny oil

SAAB uses engine oil in their trannies because it works well, especially in 
winter, and they have no need for hypoid bevel gears so no EP lube is 
needed. Engine oil is fine for trannies, it's the engine that is the lube 
challenge! The SAAB 99/900 have a final drive with no hypoid and the 9000 
and later cars are transverse so have no right angle final drive of any 
kind. Remember the Mini and the Muira, they had engine oil lube for their 
trannies, the oil lubed the tranny before and after lubing the engine!
