Re: speedvision ... "The Speed Channel" (NAC)

Ed Lutz writes in AD V8 #380 regarding the NASCAR-ization of
Speedvision:

"I'm afraid it will mean the end of the rally coverage, the vintage, and
most of the rest of what makes Speedvision so nice."

Not so for the WRC coverage, from the Speed Channel's affiliate site
describing some last minute changes to their published schedules
(http://www.speed-affiliates.com/updates.html):

"The primary change is to allow a set time for the network's expanded
coverage of the 2002 FIA World Rally Championship. Unlike previous
seasons where Speedvision aired a one-hour highlight show two to three
weeks after the conclusion of the event, in 2002 the network will
provide same day coverage from the site of each rally. Beginning
Thursday, January 17th, the network will air a report five consecutive
nights at 11pm ET/8pm PT. Thursday's and Monday's show will run 30
minutes each, Friday through Sunday will each run an hour. To
accommodate this addition, the nightly "wheel" will be pushed back by
one hour, with the programs originally scheduled from 11pm to 3am ET
airing one hour later (the 3 to 4am lineup has mostly been dropped). The
World Rally will replay Monday through Friday at 5pm ET/2pm PT each week
following the race, beginning January 21st."

Cheers.
