Thanks again to all for your advice and experience.  And don't let anyone tell
you that BMW or Porsche owners are the masters of minutiae -- not one
respondent failed to inform me that the head on my Alfa is retained by STUDS
and NUTS, not bolts...  Which I did know, saying bolt is just a lazy habit.

Re: Dean Mericas' black wipers and mirror shells -- my GTV is October '74
production, and has silver wipers and a silver Graduate-style mirror.  I can't
confirm this is original, as I was in high school at the time and didn't get
down to the docks as often as I wanted.

Re: General Packenham -- the English participated in lots of military action
that didn't involve the tea-dunkers in the "new world".  It wouldn't be a huge
surprise to find that General Packenham earned his place in history at some
brighter moment in his career than New Orleans.  We all have bad days...
