Sometimes the rubber block of the engine mount is in such sad shape
that it is deformed by the weight of the engine. And this deformation
'slops' over onto the stud on the backside of the mount, thusly blocking
access to that nut. Raising the engine with a jack to remove the weight
allows the rubber block to return to its natural shape.

My weapon of choice is a manifold wrench; basically a box wrench bent
into the shape of a horseshoe. It has the ability to snake around the
engine mount and still allow you to turn the wrench easily.

I need to get a whole set of manifold wrenches for I find them very
useful...plus some stubby wrenches.
