Alex needs to be flamed

Here I am, sick as a dog, practically on my death bed (and I don't know
how this manages to happen on my first day back to work after a long
vacation)... but Alex you are SOOOOO INCREDIBLY full of sh*t you even got
MY attention!!!! &:-)

Age has absolutely nothing to do with driving purism. I know a number of
little babies (i.e., the 2x-year-olds) who prefer RWD AND Ducatis
AND Harleys AND mopeds to any god-forsaken FWD vehicle (except maybe a
turbo SAAB). FWD is NOT better-handling on poor roads, all other things
being equal. FWD is designed to understeer and -- Eric help me -- is
generally cheaper to manufacture. With the number of driving idiots out on
the streets and manufacturers wanting to maximize profit, they are going
to mass produce cars that are safe and can be stamped out of a dime (Honda
is a case in point). You can tune ANY car to perform well. Some models are
easier to find after-market parts for; some models have vocal owners who
force them into visibility.

You are such a crock this morning!

Lastly, AWD is NOT unobtainably expensive. My '88 Audi-Dudi (which has
been going strong since I bought her in '90) is a TOTAL case in point. If
I wanted my car to go fast, all I need to do is button in a turbo engine.
You've driven Audis, you've done pro-rally. You talk about waiting for the
WRX. OK so who's the purist now? There ain't NUTHIN wrong with my AWD car
-- old technology or not.

Tess
definitely got up on the wrong side of the bed today
