re: Subject: Spider emissions
Eric, I have been wondering about the O2 sensor on my 90 Spider and if it is
working properly or not. I would like to test it, but am not sure exactly
how to do it. I am guessing that I should disconnect the sensor at the plug
and measure the voltage with the car warm and running. Correct? Also, what
do you mean it should switch between .2 and .8 volts?
Thanks,
rob murphy

Nick,
Based on what you sent, and assuming that your 1 year old sensor is still
good, it appears that your catalyst is pretty much dead.
Before changing, though, do make sure the O2 sensor is working properly- when
its warm, it should switch between .2 and .8 or so Volts. If its not working
as intended, even a new catalyst won't help.
