Cam timing

While not remotely offering advice as to how many 'notches' each way to
adjust the cams for more 'power', do have a question: Should someone
have a fairly aggressive cam and especially after they (finally) get
around to installing higher compression pistons / linersis there a
somewhat or a lot greater possibility the valves might come into contact
with the pistons?

Yes, in case of doubt, check first. To slightly rephrase the question,
though, if one starts out with fairly aggressive cam timing and the
valve to piston clearance is a bit snug, will going with less aggressive
cam timing increase the clearance (safety factor)?

Okay, one moreor should one just leave it stock in the first place if
it is strictly a street car?
