MIG welding and electronics

Quick question from someone who is new to having electronics in his cars....

What precautions should be taken when MIG welding on cars that have EFI to prevent the ECU being fried?

Presumably(?) remove battery leads - but is it also wise to unplug the ECU from the wiring harness???

Anything else?
