Re:POR15 paint

I did the floor pans on my 75 spider and some undercarriage rust with it 4+
years ago now. The car is outside 90% of the time, driven in the rain (daily
driver) even driven it through saltwater (not by choice) and it is holding up
way better than I ever expected. I've used it under paint too, again with
excellent results. Gloss black is great on small parts that can be
sandblasted and treated with metal ready - end result looks like powder
coating - use a foam brush for smooth finish. I haven't seen any fading yet.
Makes engine mounts, SPICA belt covers, throttle linkages, cross members,
trans support member, trailing arms, etc. look brand new forever (at least 4
years+). So far I haven't been disappointed. I even painted a rusty wire
soapdish with it 2 years ago (wife was attached to it) and it is always wet
in the shower - looks as good as the day I painted it. Word of warning -
follow the directions, every word. If not applied properly, it will not
work. i.e. it won't stick on top of other paint (will flake right off when
dry), to plastic or any "untreated" not rusty metal and it is pretty
permanent if it gets on skin. I wasn't as impressed with POR15 silver, I
waited too long to use it and the lid of the can welded to the can and the
tie-coat primer lifted with enamel topcoat even though I waited a good 48
hours after primer application for topcoat. Eastwoods self-etching primer
works great on top of POR 15 paints, topcoat in 24 hours.
