File under: they all do that (almost).

The same happened on our 91 (but not over all the years on the 71). With the
aid of a helpful fellow AROSC member did a pretty nice R&R on it which I
documented photographically for an as-yet-unwritten article for our club
newsletter (it is still on the way.)

But, the quick take is that unless the plastic skin is very severely shrunken
in addition to being warped, you can fix it by taking the door off, removing
the lock, separating the plastic skin from the metal substrate,
straightening it out (sometimes takes a few clever hidden cuts or other
encouragement), then putting it back together with superglue and making sure
to let it set under heavy weights to hold everything straight.

It takes a little doing and a little care, but it is very doable unless the
thing is really wrecked. Most are just curling a bit at the top edges (I
think as a result of the plastic shrinking and the metal staying the same
size).

It's been a year or so and so far this fix has worked and held up quite well.

I think our warped from heat caused by the sun. What do you think caused the
warping on a car in Canada? Freezing?
