Milano engine hunting

This has probably covered before, but could someone point out the sensor
that causes the V-6 to hunt (700 to 1000 rpm) when at idle and what to do
to correct it?  Last winter the Verde would do it until warmed up.  Since
this year's cool weather has arrived, it does it after it has warmed up.
It is annoying and I'm sure gives folks the impression I am looking for a
stop light challenge.
