Russ Neely's water pump

I went through this last summer. Double nutting works.
I tried everything to free up the crank pulley including using
a cheater bar and the starter. Ugh.
You may find you only have to double nut two or three studs at
the bottom. You will of course have to pull the radiator to get in
there.
I did not replace the original studs I had to double nut. Rather I
used standard bolts. While not pristine authentic, it sure will make
removal easier next time.
BTW, even when you get the thing loose, you will still have to jiggle
it around seven ways from Tuesday to get it to slip out.
I also removed the gear that drives the tach beforehand.
Be real sure you seal the sucker up good when you put it back together,
it has "slow oil or water leak" written all over it.
