Replacing Ignition Switch on 105 Cars

The ignition switch on my 69 Spider Jr., is in the process of failing.
It requires quite a bit of jiggling to move between the stops. I'm
trying to replace the switch but can't figure out how to get the old one
off. So far I've removed the steering wheel and the column shroud and
removed the large bolts that attach the column under the dash but I
still can't lower the column to get at the retaining screw. This car has
the long shaft column without any joints. Do I have to unbolt the
steering box to finish this job?

Thanks,
