Milano ABS

Maybe it's too late to be thinking, but I just had a thought: isn't 
the ABS system on the Milanos almost a drive-by-wire?  I remember 
someone saying that if something failed you would be without rear 
brakes since their braked exclusively by the computer or something. 
How does that system work, anyway?  Is it like a Citroen?
