Seen the State Farm Ad Yet?

Last night on CBS I was surprised to see a new? State Farm ad with an mid
80's red spider as the main character. What a horrible ad. The spider is
parked on the street and gets whacked in the rear end - hard. The insured is
crushed (as is his car) Serious damage too. Oh that hurt me to see a spider
get hit like that. 
 
In to save the day is your trusty State Farm agent and then you see shots of
the car being repaired and painted. Car is returned to life - all is well in
the world. (Well sort of a spider is never the same after a serious hit like
that) The ad ends with the insured driving up to a building and an old girl
friend sees the beautiful (repaired) red spider and says " John is that you-
wow you changed" or something to that effect. Moral of the story, get your
spider whacked and then state farm will get the old girl friend back for
you. I would rather have a spider that is straight and take my chances with
the old girl.
 
Add this commercial to the list of Alfa appearances on TV/film - lame as it
is. 
 
Sure wish they would have used a miata instead.
