Its the same analogy as with restoration: a car's market value is set by
other factors separate from restoration/maintenance/upgrade costs. You can
spend $100,000 to restore a 1960s vintage Spider, but its market value is
not X + $100,000. Or, you can spend $10,000 on an Mark Levinson stereo
system, but the car's market value is determined without it. Same with
importation fees ... a used 166 would be worth the same here as anywhere
else (currency conversion). The first owner assumes the extra costs of
importing it here.
