Re: bouncing Spider

This is a long shot, but if it happened once it could happen
again.

I just picked up a used 73 GTV when I received a call to pick up
the mechanics at the airport and be in south Jersey by morning.
With no time to go over the car, I just threw all the spare
parts in the trunk and was on my way. Adding two mechanics and
their tools made it clear the rear shocks had to be changed.

By the time we got to the motel I was exhausted so the guys
offered to change the shocks. These are two top mechanics so I
agree and go to sleep.

The next morning we are racing down twisty back roads and hit a
series of dips. The Alfa behaves like a deranged kangaroo.
Bouncing, leaping, bucking my car was possessed. There was no time
to stop, we had to get to the job. We were almost sea sick and
they cursed the "damm Italian car".

Once at the shipyard I had a chance to investigate what had
happened to my car. They installed the rear shocks UPSIDE DOWN !

Try it some time, kids would love it, the car becomes an
amusement park ride.
