Spider mirrors

The power mirrors on pre-1991 Spiders were vitaloni and they attach to a 
plate with a lip on it that bolts to the door. At the rear of the mirror 
base the gasket rises up in a little flap that covers the set screw that 
holds the mirror to the base plate.  Tighten the set screw (do not 
over-tighten) and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
