You need have no worries about running your engine up to 6000 rpm on a
rolling road dyno which offers the same kind of resistance to the engine
and drive train as road driving does. This is different to "no-load"
conditions, such as revving the engine with car in neutral. 

Going over 6000 is pointless with the standard setup because you won't be
making more power and will already have had an indication of the kind of
power and torque your engine produces now. Any chance of posting the
results to the digest so we have some comparitive data?
