Re:Daily Driver GTV

In an ideal world, I would use my '71 GTV as my daily driver. When the cars
were new, they were driven every day, so why can't that be the case now?
Having driven my GTV very extensively (when it was on the road), I learned
that this isn't really feasible, IMHO. While its a very fun and very
satisfying car to drive, its loud and crude and can really wear on you on a
daily commute, especially at 80 miles. Between the wind noise, engine
noise, and the hot interior, I think this fantasy would wear thin fairly
quickly. If you want an Alfa commuter, I'd put the money into your Milano.
If the Milano has worn out its welcome, I'd suggest buying a used Honda or
Toyota. They may not be fun or sexy, but they will get you to and from work
in comfort, quiet, and without much expense. I do sympathize with your
desire to use this great car as your primary transportation, but when its
90F+ and traffic is at a crawl, vintage charm isn't.
