Disk Brakes and AM Radio Reception

Last week there was a lot of discussion about radio reception and some quite
good answers. I hope the radio specialists will allow for one more
permutation on the basic question of RFI. The problem is that my brakes are
broadcasting to my radio and I don't like the program.

My 164 radio does fine receiving FM, however when receiving relatively weak
but listenable AM signals, I hear a burst of static whenever I apply my
brakes. In addition, I get a pulsing static signal until the pads retract
from the disks. This is especially annoying when on the highway since there
is enough drag on the pads, enough play in the bearings and enough runout on
the disks (rear disks, I think) that the annoying signal never completely
goes away. This weekend I replaced my radio (to add a CD) and the new radio
behaves the same as the old.

Can you suggest any remedies other than checking all the antenna and other
grounds? But how do I successfully ground the brakes? I would think they
would already be pretty well grounded. Any filters I could apply in this
situation?

Thanks in advance.
