Milano/75 Oil Pressure Sender Removal

Anyone have any sage advice on how to remove one of these? Motor is in
the car, but intake manifold and pipes are removed, so clearance
shouldn't be quite so much trouble.

On a related note, does anyone have an idea if these devices (oil
pressure senders) are all the same for Euro cars of this (late 80's)
vintage? Specifically, I'm wondering if a sender from an '87 Milano
would correctly drive a VDO oil pressure gauge as found in an '86 Audi
4000. Never mind that the installation will be in a '88 Merkur XR4Ti
with a '93 Ford Mustang dual-plug head controlled by a '88 T-bird PCM
with a '91 Saab 9000 APC detonation control unit <g>.
