I've had the good sense to stay out of one of these threads but I just
can't help myself. In my opinion some people buy cars to have an
accident in. Used to be that the majority of Volvo drivers were
tailgaters, as if with that super safe car they didn't need to be
careful. Now its just about everyone, but the worst offenders are the
pick ups and the SUV's. With their height and size they're lulled into a
false sense of safety. They'll tailgate anything, even a semi that they
can't see over or around. I like to drive fast but it just doesn't make
sense to tailgate and it makes less sense with pu's and SUV's. For some
reason people look at them and see safety but don't see the handling and
braking penalty that takes away from the safety.
