shocks/headlight confusion, gas prices in US and a local effect

Greetings Alfisti!
Thanks for the info on the headlight bulb info for Alfie,my beloved 87
Milano Gold (sitting in the driveway waiting for it's timing belt change.I'll
wait till the rain lets up).I figured it best to stick with stock lighting
after hearing the melted headlight stories, but noticed something very
unusual about my headlights.I tried the Sylvania "cool blue" lights, they seem
to be a bit whiter/brighter than the previous bulbs.
The passenger side headlight (right side)is made by carello and uses an
H3 bulb and has the 3 prong connector fitting for it.The left side light is
made by ELWA and has the fitting for the 9004 bulb, with the large plastic
connector to plug into the 9004 bulb.HUH????????
Which bulb/headlamp assembly is correct for the car, the H3 or the 9004
bulb fitting? The left side (the 9004 fitted bulb) seems to produce a higher
intensity light.I've never had to change the passenger side bulb, and had
never noticed it in 4 years of owning this car.Any thoughts?
Also, I'm curious to see what people are paying for fuel in various parts
of the country.I paid $1.69 per gallon for sunoco 94 octane this weekend in
the DC area;what's it like in the rest of the US? Just curious.......
The gas price hikes are beginning to take a toll in the rental car
business;my company's 10.00 up front fuel charge just came up to $14.00.The
SUV's and minivans that I carry (that were the highest demand vehicles in my
fleet) are now sitting essentially unrented and unwanted (I've had a Blazer
sitting on my lot all week,an unprecedented occurance)and the usually high
resale prices of these vehicles when retired is beginning to come down. One of
my retired '98 Ford F150 pickups with only 14k miles just sold at auction for
$10,400;well below the $13,500 price of a similar vehicle sold just 2 months
ago.Does the demand for these roadgoing dinosaurs seem to be waning?
Interesting....
