alfa purchases

We bought our Spider used (with 1.5k on it), and obviously the Giulia used,
but it all started with a Milano which grabbed our attention on the used
car lot at a VW dealer as we drove by. We drove that car for 100k, having
bought it with 11k on the odo. It was replaced with an Infiniti G-20, which
now has 125k on it, and will be replaced sometime in the next year (it
feels amazingly good still). The Milano was a lot of fun, but the cost of
ownership was about three times the cost of the G-20.
We were in a M-B dealership last weekend, looking at a C-series Sport, but
the new news will keep us in the "wait and see" category, as we are ready
to buy a new 156, should they become available. I doubt that we will see
sedans for some time, if at all, however. The first cars would be Spiders
and GTV's, I'm sure, based on the comments from GM and Fiat about bringing
in sporty models. I hope they don't end up in Chevy showrooms, where they
will be hidden in back while the salesmen push Corvettes at over list. The
best deal might be to see Alfa become the sporting offering at Saturn.
In any case, I read that the deal pivots around defining the roles of the
Agnelli's in the scenario, who aren't ready to step out of any management
roles or decision making positions. The Italians still have a chance to
twist the knife, and their inability to resist doing so may yet result in a
bad situation for US Alfa lovers.
