Normal people do like Alfas enough and normal people do buy them
in the quantities required to support the importers/dealers in
many parts of the world.

As for performance versions, you can order a 156TS Group N
or Group N+ racer (at least here in New Zealand, which is as
far away from Italy as you can get).

Maybe the best solution would be for Fiat to continue to design
and build the cars that go to those parts of the world where
normal people in those countries already buy them.

For the US market, GM could find a platform more suitable for
the normal people of that country. It could have a V8 engine,
soft suspension, cup holders and maybe even RWD.

GM R&D would be limited to asking a market research company
what shade of red to paint it.

That way, eveyone should be happy ;-)
