some italian car *festival* to be held sometime, somewhere...

hi all, brian shorey sez:

c'mon joe, whether or not yer anti-alfa is anybody's guess, but the idea that
your concerns about your track event are based upon safety, nothing more, is
nowhere near the truth. (i'm still curious as to what twisted logic your event
*is* based upon...) otherwise, as i said before, your track groupings would be
based up only two criteria - the capability of the vehicle, & the capability of
the car.

as we have previously discussed off-digest, this is *not* the case. you
yourself said that were i to run my basically stock pantera - which is allowed,
w/no *special* exceptions needed - that this car, w/~280hp, would also be on the
track at the same time w/similarly novice-experienced drivers, except some of
the cars would be 500+ hp!!! no *way* this is safe. i gave you suggestions as
to how different track groupings mite be arranged to ensure no such power
discrepancy on the track at the same time, as well as no driver experience
discrepancy (ie - how it's done at *other* track events), and all you gave me
were excuses: "put up the money/run your own event/get me 25 pre-paid
alfa-guys/etc". (of course, my proposed groupings would have also opened the
event up to *all* makes of italian cars, w/no need for any *special*
exceptions.)

so, whether or not you are anti-alfa isn't really relevant - your event
discriminates against regular alfas/fiats/lancias - for *whatever* reasons - &
it is not as safe as if the criteria were based upon what's *under* the hood of
the cars, not what's *on* the hood.

doug "really tired of the deception here" sedon

btw, it's callaway, not calloway...
