USArdona = Mr. Brugnoli = Responsibility?

A digester comments:

Summer '98 I blew two light switches on my '87 Platinum. After the second
one went I did some research. Turns out NHTSA recalled the car for it, and
looking under the dash the fix, (a relay) wasn't in place.

The excuses Mr. Brugnoli used not to honor the recall were, (in order):

1. The light switches were fixed.

2. The place I had it serviced wasn't really authorised by Alfa, (Ha!).

3. The recall was too old. He wasn't going to honor it.

At least #3 was the truth. I did file a complaint with NHTSA as they say
that recalls don't expire, but I never heard back.
