Yes it certainly seems to be a stupid move on the part of ARDONA and one
sure to alienate what few friends they may have here.  Alternately, ALFA has
the right and responsibility to legally defend and protect the logo and
script from unauthorized use, especially if there IS any chance that they
will return to this market at sometime in the future.  I think that Colin
should write a letter formally requesting authorization (this seems to be
the sticking point) use the logo and script in a narrowly defined, pro Alfa,
noncommercial usage.  This allows ARDONA to protect their property and at
the same time to encourage those owners who still remain. Remember a few
years ago when ALFA came down hard on local club newsletters that used the
logo and script. Fact is, no one has ever accused Alfa of being market
smart.
