Girly man?  Ouch!  IMO the stock spider seats are crap, and just get worse
over the years.  I replaced the drivers seat in my spider with a Recaro, but
eventually switched back to a stock seat because it sat too high.  If, ahem,
<when> I start racing it again I will upgrade the seats somehow, and a Miata
seat is an obvious choice (leather would be nice).  It might not "look"
correct, but when I'm four wheel drifting the spider through a corner and
have to hold myself in the seat by pressing my leg into the door, I'd
<gladly> take a seat with at least a <little> bit of lateral support.

On the track, a proper harness does wonders for holding you in place, but on
the street just isn't practical.
