Milano won't turn (safely, that is)

When I say Milano won't turn, I really mean that I am still
having turn signal difficulties.

- -Hazard warning lights always work
- -New column switch
- -New flasher unit (actually used, but new to me)
- -No fuses are blowing

Symptoms are that occassionally I have no turn signals.
Sometimes when it happens you can see a very faint illumination
on the dash indicator, sometimes nothing.
What am I missing? This is driving me nuts! Now that I've had a
bunch of stuff fixed recently this is the only thing holding me
back from saying the car is in the kind of shape I am truly
happy with...<sigh>
