Spider Psychic Network still in operation

Yes, the Spider Psychic Network is still alive and working. As
concrete evidence of this phenomenon, just recently this august Digest
had a request for help to remove a frozen clutch slave cylinder from the
tenacious grip of a desperate engine block. The clutch MC on my '86
Spider has been leaking for quite some time and finally I was able to
get to replacing it this Saturday - weather was finally warm enough.
In less than an hour, the old MC was out and the new one was in with the
minimum of fuss.

On to the grimy section of our scheduled program, bleeding the system.
After removing the wheel to gain access, I proceeded to loosen the
bleeder valve - Yikes! Double Yikes!! ... followed by a stream of more
potent Yikes!!!! The bloody bleeder valve had sheared off. And to top
it off, MY (how dare it!) clutch slave cylinder was held in a tight grip
of rust an corrosion and would not turn. I applied a liberal dose of PB
Blaster followed by a heat treatment via my Blue Wrench, then tried to
get it to budge with the biggest ViceGrip I owned. Only the ViceGrip
turned. Left it to soak overnight in BP Blaster. Another session with
the Blue Wrench and the ViceGrip on Sunday finally got it to rotate no
more than 5 degrees...but it is a start. It is soaking in more BP
Blaster.

Maybe by this weekend (in the 60's!!), I'll be able to get it out. It
is a PITA to remove when all is good shape, so this should be fun....NOT!

So beware of what you post on this list....your Spider is listening in
and communicating with all the other Spiders in the world!
