KYB doesn't list a stock fitment for shocks for Alfas, including the
Spider.
Does anybody have the actual KYB part numbers since a local wholesaler
is
offering a special (F +R, all 4 for $100) and that's a good price if the
special includes those numbers.

I tried some KYB shocks a couple of years ago on a Giulia TI which I
purchased from either IAP or AR Ricambi. I still have the rears - the
number on the shock (stamped on the lower end of the unit) is
KG5517 KA26K. I vaguely recall from the packaging that they were
actually
for something like a Chrysler minivan. I took them off after a few
months
because I discovered while doing some other suspension work that they
are actually too short. The suspension couldn't go to "full drop" on
the limiting straps but would actually be limited by the shocks which I
surmised would be bad for either the shock itself or the mounting
locations. A Spider rear (and for that matter front) suspension is more
or less identical to my TI so I would suggest being careful with these
shocks. I now am using a Koni model and it appears to be "fitted"
correctly to the application. The price is certaintly higher but is
less likely to cause serious/expensive damage to the car.
