Re: GTV6 Terminal Velocity, and kindred spirits

In AD7-1372 'Nardo writes "John said the thread on the 164's top speed (which
I started? - I actually started a thread!!) discussed GTV6 top speeds. I must
have missed that."

Well, not exactly. Just rechecked that spool to find what the discussed GTV6
top speeds had been, and the only one I found actually posted was 'nardo's
own 138. Brian Shorey added "btw, the whole top speed discussion has me quite
interested. rich, i'd really like to hear the verdict on the gtv6
transmissions, specifically the tall gearing of the '82 and '83 model years.
i've heard that those cars can go faster in fourth than they can in fifth -
true?". Rich volunteered to run the numbers if somebody could come up with
the aerodynamic data, but all we got was a reported Cx for the GTV-6 of 3.9,
(compared to 3.8 for the GT Veloce, 3.41 for the Giulia Super, and 3.0 for
the 164), but no frontal areas for anything but the 164, so that fizzzled.

The current thread was started by a contributor with the pseudonym
"Professional Speeder". I was interested to see that in the earlier thread
bernie had signed himself (in AD7-461) > `nardo "professional speeder?"
zelazninni "I ain't foolin' around." <

Bernie, however, had lower-cased it, which I guess gives him something like
virtual rank as well as seniority in these circles. P.S. is of course
welcome, uppers and all.

If anyone has valid frontal-area figures for the geeteewheesex, I expect Rich
would still be interested.
