91 Spider Airbag light

Hi Folks,

My '91 Spider (new owner) is in mint condition with only 12k miles on it.
It has two problems though that I hoped I could get some advice regarding.

1) The air bag light is supposed (according to manual) to blink for a couple
of minutes and turn off if the diagnostic is successful.  Or it is to remain
blinking if there's a problem.  Mine of course blinks and then turns ON.
Mechanic scratches his head.  Any ideas ?
2) The warning bell (lights on, key left in ignition) tends to come on for
no apparent reason every now and then.  Once it starts it usually stays on
until letting the car sit, or hitting just the right bump.  Again, mechanic
(alfa specialist too) scratches his head.

If anyone has any advice on correcting the air bag beacon, or the possessed
warning bell I'd appreciate it.  Otherwise, what a great car !
