Milanos and Snow Tires

Can I weigh in with some comments on the snow tire question? Hey . . . I
will anyway.

For winter, my Milano Platinum sports a set of four Toyo Observ G-02
195-60R14 T-rated tires on a set of used Milano Gold steel rims. They
are on their third winter, they have a ton of tread left, and the car is
my daily driver; 20 miles each way to work five days a week, weather be
durned! It is better than a Jeep. Honest! I put these wheels/tires on
around the first week in December and run them 'til Easter. While we
have not had a truly wicked winter in several years, with these tires I
have absolutely no concern about snow conditions, roads, parking lots,
driveways - plowed or unplowed! I would take this setup into Vermont in
a blizzard without a second thought.

The tires are very quiet on dry pavement and pretty grippy in the turns.
They only make themselves noticed in a hard stop when they growl . .
.yep, the knobby tread puts up a growl when you get on the brakes.

I have heard that the Nokia's are excellent. The Blizzaks are good when
new but just wear out too quickly.

Drive fast, take chances.
(come on . . . I am just kidding)

Winter around here is winding down. Time to plan for next year.
