Re: a nice NY/NJ Alfa event
The Long Island AROC Chapter organized a little Sunday morning event, a visit
to Nastasi Racing Corp, in Long Island City. In the immaculate shop there
was an Alfa Tipo 33, a race ready 105, a 1750 in the early stages of race
preparation, and a Lambo Miura in the midst of a full restoration, it's rear
sub frame completely detached. (It's nice to have money.) Also nice was a
Nash Healey, in excellent condition. (This model can be seen in the movie
"Sabrina" with Willam Holden.) Other Alfa racers, including an F1 car also
disassembled, were there.
One of the people at Nastasi showed off new rotors for the 164. These are
nice units, ventilated, cross drilled, and well finished. These should be
available soon, and should sell for about $200 the pair. Also available were
two different sets of brake pads for the 164, who's brand I had not seen
before. One set is a bit too much for street use, as they do not function all
that well when cold. Both come with wear sensors.
As this was my first Alfa Club event, it was nice to meet fellow members for
the first time. Alfa people, it seems, are always pleasant to be with.
