Irrelevance?

In V7, #1349, Ed Parise said:

"I have enjoyed the Alfa digest for the most part and
found it very helpful; however, I find myself
fast-scanning/skipping over large sections, if not all
of it, to avoid over-taxing my small brain by not
having to wade through all that non-relevant crap that
comes across."

...while I, on the other hand, automatically skim over
lengthy instructions for troubleshooting the ECU in a
late-model Spider, or any of John Hertzman's
dissertations on Paint, not because these aren't
worthy topics, but because I have no interest in
either post-'74 Spiders or in factory-exact paint
colors. I do care about differing viewpoints, great
roads, good food and drink, and (of course) Alfa
Romeos, and I'm glad that this forum covers both my
interests and Ed's.

I've said it before, and I'll say it over until
someone pulls the plug: this digest is mostly like a
club bar, where people of overlapping tastes and
interests show up and converse on whatever they want.
Some attention to our main purpose is usually
expected, and loud arguments are banished to the
parking lot if they go on too long, but as long as you
mind your manners you're welcome here. Isn't that
right, landlord?
