When I had the rear deck speakers replaced on the Milano it called for close 
inspection of the parcel shelf, which is really a light nothing like a nice 
pizza crust.  However, BELOW the shelf itself is a framework of nice body 
steel structural members, so if you really wanted to you could make a secure 
attachment there with a little modification to the shelf itself, or perhaps 
inside the first aid box.

Attaching the seat tether to the shelf, though, would be like attaching it to 
the LA air on a smoggy day.
