Twin-plug Distributors

Hi Keith and Group:

Twin-plug I mean as in the twin-plug heads for the TZs and GTAs in the
sixties. The distributor has 8 wires coming out of the cap and is designed
to fire the two plugs in the same cyclinder at 1 degree of timing apart. It
was fairly common practice in high performance engine design since before
WW2. The advantage besides a better and prolonged spark is that, in the case
of the hemi-combustion chambers of the Alfas, the plugs can be set to each
side and allowing the use of bigger valves. The system uses two coils and
two sets of points to allow build-up and discharge simutaneously. The rotor
I am looking for (Marelli # H710833-01), as far as I know, is only used on
TZs and early 1600 GTAs.

Felix
