My PO had the rear window replaced on my original vinyl top and it was and
is just fine.  He did it at a local shop who just sewed in a new piece of
clear plastic.  Check around, I'm sure you can do it reasonably, and it's
probably worth it if your top is otherwise sound.  Good luck.
