dark green paint code(s)

Jason Frautschi asks for "the paint code for the beautiful dark green offered
in 1973 as shown on the Berlina in the sales brochure that year? Maybe this
is a color that was also used before 1973 or since (?)"

The 2000 chip chart I have (undated) shows AR 227, Moss Green, as a Berlina
(and GTV) color, with pigskin upholstery. The late sixties Body Shop Manual
lists among then-standard Alfa colors AR 209, Verde Muschio which translates
as Moss Green but is rendered there as Dark Green; it also lists an AR 216
Verde Pino, Pine Green, and an AR 217 Verde Vivo PF which would have been
Spiders only. D'Amico & Tabucchi list Verde Pino as the only non-metallic
green on 2000 Berlinas and GT Veloces. A Ditzler (PPG) list shows 209 and 227
as the same color, but they may well have been different to Alfa. I would
assume that 209, 216 and 227 were pretty close to each other, with 227 as the
most likely one for the '73 Berlina.

According to paint company lists,
AR 209 should be DuPont 8774, Ditzler (PPG)44158
AR 216 should be DuPont 8775, Ditzler (PPG)43782.
AR 227 should be DuPont 37009, Ditzler (PPG)44158

The apparent discrepancies? One can mix different pigments to achieve
identical hues, perhaps with different intensities, different degrees of
permanence, suitability for particular production techniques, or other
characteristics, including costs, which is one reason for not necessarily
relying on "the Old Master Painter" to mix by eye if you don't have to.
