I think basically you just need to go down to the DOL
and apply for a new Certificate of Ownership... or you
can download the form from the Washington Department of
Licensing website: http://www.wa.gov/dol/forms/420001.htm
I was thinking that you had to fill out an affidavit for
loss of title, but that is only when you release interest
in a vehicle.  It takes awhile but it sounds like there's
no hurry.
