Everything You Need to Know
About The 2nd Annual No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour
Who can Participate?: Anyone with a motor vehicle 25 years old or older.
What is it:?: A two day 900 mile (approximately) tour on the back roads of
Southern California.
When & Where?: Meet at 7:00am on Friday February 18th 2000 at Main Street
and Washington in Julian California
What does it cost?: It's up to you, if you want to stay at a motel or Bed
and Breakfast in Julian the night before departure, see list on reverse and
spend what you think is appropriate. We'll stop overnight in
Lone Pine, you can (a) make a reservation at Alabama Hills Inn, 760 876
8700 (b) camp out (c) sleep in your car.
What do I get out of it?: Two days of fun and fellowship with other crazy
people who love to drive their old cars. No T Shirts, No Dash Plaques. No
Grill Badges
How do I sign up?: You don't. Just be in Julian at 7:00AM on Friday
February 18, 2000, you'll get a copy of the route instructions. We will
depart at 7:30AM
Who can I call for more information?: Nobody. You probably know the person
who gave you this notice. After you have read this notice you know as much
about the event as he does; or anyone else on the planet.

Why This is a No Frills Event and what you need to Know
No one has driven the entire route, mileage is estimated, you are expected
you use your own judgment and a map to stay on course.
The California map provided by the Automobile Club of Southern California,
includes about 90% of the roads on this tour. If you feel the need for more
details get a Thomas Brothers California Road Atlas (under $20 at your local
map store).
Start with a full fuel tank. Gas is available in Julian, Beaumont, Lake
Arrowhead, Hesperia, 58&@395, Lone Pine. Second Day, Furnace Creek (no
premium at Stovepipe Wells) Baker, Mecca, Twenty Nine Palms, Julian
Carry a cell phone. If you break down you are on your own. Other
participants may stop and offer help, because they are fellow gear heads.
However, you are ultimately responsible for your own vehicle.
