The door switch for the power mirrors on the 164 has a small rocker switch
(tiny rocker switch) (almost invisible rocker switch) just in front of the
"hat" switch. Push the front position for the passenger door mirror
(right), push the back position for the driver's door mirror (left).
The ACC self test runs for about one minute (I assume you don't need the
EXACT elapsed time). Pressing Auto at the end is necessary to restart the
system I believe, after retrieving the codes.
I'm having trouble understanding how someone could have difficulty heeling
and toeing a GTV6. The Spider and the Bertone GTV were very tricky, for
some of us (kind of heel on the brake and toe stuffed high up under the
dash almost, to press on the pedal rod, a complex contortion was the only
way I could do it). The GTV6 seemed to be pretty conventional: half a foot
on the brake, half a foot on the gas, not true heel and toe but then true
heel and toe requires a bit more contortion and the half a foot with a roll
to the right is actually easier and smoother, 'corse if I recall correctly
you needed to be pretty deep into the brakes for it to be super smooth but
then heel and toe is supposed to be for those moments. BTW, it should not
be necessary for anyone to cross their legs in an ALFA.
You want a hard car to heel and toe try any VW product, they're hopeless,
enough to make you want an automatic (shudder, unless of course it's a
Selespeed ... yum). The SAAB 900 new series is also a pig to heel and toe,
without the obligatory snowboots, but the 9 3 seems to be better. It oughta
be illegal to sell a car you can't heel and toe, but then some North
Americans are notorious for pressing the wrong pedal entirely (for me
"unintended acceleration" is a bit of an oxymoron).
