Polizia/carabinieri?

Wondering aloud:

Knowing that police and highway patrol vehicles in the States are
equipped with "Interceptor Special" engines  I.E. higher performance
versions of civilian engines (or at least they used to be)  I wonder if
the Alfa Polizia engines are modified in any way from stock to effect
higher performance?
