i wouldn't put anything wider than a 215 tire on a 7" wheel.  i don't think
a 245 or 265 tire will fit on a 7" wheel, especially in a 50 series, and
even if you could jam that much rubber on your wheels i can't imagine the
handling would be all that good.

i tried 225/50 tires on my old 7" wheels and they didn't work well at all.
the same tires on an 8" wheel had a straighter sidewall and the handling was
much better.
