164 AFM
I tampered with the setting on my AFM.Subsequently, the car had biiig
problems passing state inspection.I had not thought at that, was too tempted
by any performance gain.
My question is:
So far i have attempted to readjust the afm having a microvoltmeter hooked up
to the oxygen sensor and running the car.
How should one adjust it? Maybe only at the stores that have the Marelli or
equivalent testers? But then again, those show not much more from the oxygen
sensor.
Is there a shop that specializes in calibrating afm? Is it something that
uses some miniature wind-tunnel? :o)
Buying a new AFM won't do it probably, since the adjustment should be
car-speciffic, right? This was my original idea, thinking that as time passes,
the fuel pressure regulator and the AFM weaken out and do not perform to spec
anymore and a readjustment would be beneficial for performance.
Michael, i totally agree with you.I would look for the same 164 in a new
one.Base, totally base. The engine is powerfull as it is, weight is the
problem here. But having an "L" it is very depressing to think about starting
to take options out.BTW, i think in EU 164 was sold also with rotary-knob
heat adjustments and i think there were some that retrofitted automatic
systems back to knobs.
My super-pro bushings have a slight squeek.Let's say it's my fault for not
putting enough grease in (i consumed amlost all the package).I'll attempt to
spray some penetrating fluid..
