Lowering the Milano - Rear Only

Hi Digesters,

As most of the known world recognizes, the Milano body-style appears a
little tail high (well . .. actually more like a lot!). This seems
accentuated by the ride height setting of the rear springs. It strikes me
that the Alfa engineers in their near-infinite wisdom set the rear springs a
bit high to handle the inevitable carload of over-size adults plus a
trunkful of pasta.

Would it be reasonable to lower the rear only by trimming half to one coil
from the rear springs? Would this muck up the handling at all or would it
bring some benefits? Seems to me such a lowering would give the car a bit
more eye-appeal especially from behind (arguably the car's worst angle).
And since I will rarely have more than myself, my willing bride (need her
along in case I have to bleed the brakes) and minimal luggage in this car, I
will never utilize the long throw of the factory ride height in the back.

Comments?

Thanks.
